Warriors’ Stephen Curry set to return vs. Lakers

The Golden State Warriors are getting Stephen Curry back. After missing 10 games and counting due to a leg injury suffered against the Dallas Mavericks in early February, the two-time MVP is making a return to the court soon.

The Warriors star is slated to suit up on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.

The Warriors have gone a respectable 5-4 in the nine games that Steph Curry has missed thus far due to his current injury and are 12-12 overall this season without their frontman.

They’ve found their form of late with three straight wins at home, including two crucial games against the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves. With just a few games separating teams in the West’s top six with those outside the play-in picture entirely, every win is massive entering the NBA’s stretch run before the postseason.

There were initial fears of a much more serious injury when Curry went to the locker room against the Mavs on February 4. Losing him for just barely over a month is a massive win for the team’s hopes to defend their title. Barring another injury, this not only ensures Golden State will have their best weapon to help battle for playoff seeding for the final 18 games of the season, but also gives Curry a runway to work his way back into game shape before the playoffs.
