Lakers Could Trade For Zach LaVine Or DeMar DeRozan Using Mo Bamba And Max Christie

The Los Angeles Lakers made a number of solid moves ahead of this year’s trade deadline, but part of becoming a championship team is always seeking to get better. It seems as though the Los Angeles Lakers already have some trade options in the upcoming offseason.
A recent report from Jonathan Adams of Heavy relayed the words of an NBA executive, who suggested that the Lakers could still make a blockbuster trade to get Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan.
“Max Christie, too, he has been impressive early on, if he can fill in, he has a lot of 3-and-D potential. He could be a trade chip if there is a star available around the draft, you could imagine him and Bamba as part of a package for Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan if the Bulls wanted to go that route.”
There is no doubt that acquiring Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan would increase the Los Angeles Lakers talent level. If they could acquire either star without giving up too many pieces, a deal is absolutely worth it.
The Los Angeles Lakers Have Been Linked With Zach LaVine And DeMar DeRozan In The Past
There is no doubt that both DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine have been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. In fact, one previous report even suggested that Zach LaVine wanted to go to the Lakers himself.
“LaVine wants to go to the Lakers, that has been pretty clear for a while now. The agents want him to be in Los Angeles, he is a UCLA guy and they did some rattling about his contract last offseason”, said an NBA executive.
As for DeMar DeRozan, he was close to joining the Los Angeles Lakers prior to signing with the Chicago Bulls in 2021. In fact, he even claimed that at the time, he felt as though his going to the Lakers was “a done deal”.
“I felt like going to the Lakers was a done deal and that we were going to figure it out. I was going to come home. The business side of things just didn’t work out. A couple of things didn’t align. It didn’t work out. It’s just part of the business, part of the game. My next option was definitely Chicago. So, looking back at it, it worked out well.”
It will definitely be interesting to see what the Los Angeles Lakers will be doing this off-season. A lot of what they do will likely be based on how this year goes, and we’ll see what ends up happening.
